Exif Photo & Image Batch Renamer

This tool renames loaded image and photo files based on Exif information and original file names.

Files are not sent to any server; processing is completed entirely on your device.

Filename Area

Create output filename rules by drag-and-drop from the "Token Palette" or by direct input.

Tokens for missing Exif fields are treated as empty strings by default (capture date/time tokens are supplemented with file modified date/time).

{YYYY}{MM}{DD}_{hh}{mm}{ss}_{OriginalName}.{ext}

Replacement Settings

Replacement is applied to the original filename including extension.

Sequence Settings

Select Files

File loading is additive. Re-selected files are also added to the existing file list. You can also add files by drag and drop.

Download

The tool does not overwrite existing files. It copies the original file and downloads it with a new filename. Only filenames are changed; image contents and photo data are never modified.

How to Use the Image Exif Renamer and Practical Use Cases

This browser-based renaming support tool lets you batch rename files using Exif date/time and original filenames into consistent naming patterns. It helps optimize image operations such as folder organization, delivery data creation, and SNS post asset management.

Organize by shooting order with Exif date/time tokens

By using YYYY/MM/DD/hh/mm/ss/ms tokens, you can easily create capture date/time-based naming rules and unify filenames in chronological order.

Speed up routine work with template saving

Frequently used naming rules can be saved as templates, so you do not need to recreate the same settings every time. It also adapts well to project-by-project operations.

Flexible naming with regex replacement and sequence numbering

By combining partial replacement of original filenames, regex replacement, and sequence insertion, you can build naming formats in detail for different shooting sites, departments, and uses.

Process in browser and save directly

Because file contents are processed in the browser without uploading to a server, you can keep everything local and download files either individually or as one ZIP.

Useful in situations like these

When you want to organize EC product images as "CaptureDate_ProductName_Sequence" and improve product registration efficiency.

When you want to standardize photo materials and coverage images with dates to improve searchability in team sharing.

When you need to quickly format multiple images to match client-specified naming rules before delivery.

Usage tips

  • Start fastest by loading a saved template first, then editing token order as needed.
  • Including token {OriginalName} lets you keep original identification information while adding date/time or sequence numbers.
  • You can use regular expressions for replacements. You can choose commonly used replacement patterns from the "Samples" button to save input effort. You can also set multiple replacement rules.
  • Replacement is applied only to the original filename including extension (token names: {OriginalName} and {ext}).
  • When using token {seq} to add sequence numbers to filenames, adjusting digits in "Zero-padding width (digits)" helps prevent sorting order issues in later processes.
  • "Download as ZIP" lets you download renamed files together as a single zip.
  • "Download Individually" lets you download renamed files one by one continuously. The browser download button popup appears for each image.
  • You can save renamed filename rules with the "Save Template" button.
  • Because sequence numbers can be added, files are easier to manage with consistent numbering even within the same folder.
  • Millisecond capture tokens ({MS3}/{MS2}/{MS1}) are also supported, enabling naming in shooting-time order even during high-speed burst shots.

Limitations

  • When downloading as ZIP, your device memory is used.
For renaming large numbers of files, we recommend processing in multiple batches.
  • File creation date/time cannot be obtained from the browser, so this tool does not support it.
  • If Exif capture date/time is missing, capture date/time tokens are supplemented with file modified date/time.
